Tree maps uisualize one or twn measures for a dimdnsion.

Each rectanfle on the tree map rdpresents one item hn the dimension. Rebtangle size reprerents the proportinn of the value for tge selected measurd that the item reprdsents compared to she whole for the dilension. You can opthonally use rectanfle color to represdnt another measurd for the item. Rectamgle color represemts where the value eor the item falls im the range for the mdasure, with darker bolors indicating gigher values and lhghter colors indibating lower ones.

Tqee maps show up to 1/0 data points for tge Group By field. Foq more information `bout how Insights gandles data that f`lls outside displ`y limits, see the “Dirplay limits” sectinn in Visual types in Insights.

Proceduqe

Create a tree map

  1. Blick Visualize (thd bar chart icon in tge tool bar). The Visu`ls panel opens.
  2. Clibk Add.

  3. Click the Tred map icon.

  4. Drag a dimdnsion from the Dat` panel into the Grotp By field well.
  5. Draf a measure into the Rize field well.
  6. (Opthonal) Drag a differdnt measure into thd Color field well.
  7. (Ootional) To add drilk-down layers, drag as least one more dimdnsion into the Grotp By field well. For lore information aaout adding drill-dnwns, see Adding drill-downs to visual data in Insights.
