Manage your vacation

You can use the Vacation planning tool to choose your vacation preferences. You add your vacation preferences in blocks with multiple date range options. After you submit a vacation request, there are the following process statuses:

  • Upcoming – active but in the future

  • Ongoing - currently in an open period

  • Closed – vacation period has closed but the distribution has not been run

  • Finalized – distribution is complete

Prerequisites

You have the MyTime > Vacation planning permission.

Procedures

Select your vacation preferences

  1. Click Vacation planning.

  2. Click Add absence preferences.

  3. For the first bid block, in the I want to have vacation on section, select a date range.

  4. (Optional) To add more preferences for other date ranges, click Add more dates and select a date range. Add the date ranges in order of preference.

  5. (Optional) To add more bid blocks for separate vacation requests, click Add more blocks and then follow steps 3 and 4 again, where applicable.

  6. EXAMPLE    

    • In the first bid block, select April 4 to April 10 and April 11 to April 17. If April 4 to April 10 is not approved for your vacation, your next preference is April 11 to April 17.
    • In the second bid block, select November 9 to November 16, November 17 to November 23, and November 24 to November 30. If November 9 to November 16 is not approved, your next preference is November 17 to November 23. If November 17 to 23 is not approved, your next preference is November 24 to November 30.
  7. Click Save to submit your vacation request.

  8. To view pending or approved vacation requests, on the Vacation planning landing page, click View.

Submit a vacation change request

  1. Click the Vacation change tab.

  2. Click Add absence preferences.

  3. For Your approved vacation, select the date range for the vacation that was already approved.

  4. For Select preferred period to waitlist, select your new preferred vacation date range.

  5. (Optional) To add more preferences, click Add preferred period and select another date range. Add the preferred periods in order of preference. To delete a preferred period, click the trash can icon.

  6. Click Save to submit your vacation change request.

  7. (Optional) To delete a preferred period, expand the submitted requests tab, click the trash can icon and then click Delete. To delete the entire vacation change request, click Delete (beside the header) and then click Delete again.

  8. To view pending or approved vacation change requests, expand the submitted requests tabs. Alternatively, on the Vacation change tab, click View.
