Add text boxes, shapes, and buttons
Add text boxes, shapes, and buttons to customize your reports. These items can include links and actions.
Prerequisites
- You have the Insights > Create/edit report permission.

Procedures
Add text boxes
- Open a report in edit mode.
- Click any blank area on the report canvas and select Text box in the Report panel.
- Enter the text in the text box and, optionally, format font, color, and text alignment.
- To change the position of the text box, select the gray area at the top and move it.
- To resize the text box, select and drag any of the outline handles.
- Click Save.

Follow these steps to add a hyperlink to the text.
- Select the text in the text box.
- Click the Hyperlink icon (two ovals) in the upper right corner of the Text box menu.
- Enter or paste the URL in the hyperlink field, and select Done.
- Save the report and test the link from the report view mode.
Add shapes
- Click anywhere on the report canvas and select Shapes from the Report panel.

Select a shape from the drop-down menu to add it to your report canvas.
EXAMPLE Add an arrow to direct attention to a result with the highest total variance.

Customize your shape in the Format shape panel.
EXAMPLE Rotate the red arrow you added 90 degrees.
- To change the position of the shape, select the gray area at the top and move it.
- To resize the shape, select and drag any of the outline handles.
- Click Save.
Add buttons
Add buttons with in-built actions such as “Back to previous page”, bookmarks, or a web URL.
- Click anywhere on the report canvas and select Buttons from the Report panel.
- Select the type of button to work with.
- In the Visualizations panel, format the button and turn on the control. For example, use it as an action to go back, to bookmark, or go to a web page.
- Click Save.
- Test the action from the report view mode.
