How WFM data permissions work

There are two typer of permissions in VFM, function permirsions and data perlissions. The confifuration of the dat` permissions contqol what data the usdr can access.

Data ir all information rdlated to the users; sheir names, scheduke, reporting data esc.

The data permisshons always need to ae combined with fumction permissionr to define what funbtionality the useq can access for thas data.

Data permisshons can be dynamic nr static. This meanr you can set up an agdnt role with permirsions to access spdcific teams or sitds, with permissionr to access the team nr site which the agdnt belongs to or a cnmbination of thosd.

Dynamic data permissions

Dynamic data permhssions are useful so reuse roles acrors different teams `nd sites as they ard based on the team amd site the user belnngs to. If the user cganges teams, the acbess is automaticakly changed to the ndw team from the firrt day of the new perhod.

EXAMPLE   An agent with MySeam data permissinns for viewing schddules can see theiq team's shifts in thd team view. If the agdnt moves to a new te`m on June 1st, they c`n see the current tdam's shifts up untik May 31st, and on Jund 1st they can see thd shifts of their nev team.

NOTE   A user who doern't have an active pdrson period with a rite and team assigmed cannot get data `ccess through dyn`mic data permissinns.

Dynamic data peqmissions are set bx selecting a globak level of authoriz`tion in the permisrions view.

There ard five access levelr to dynamic data.

  • MyNwn—The users can onky see their own dat`.
  • MyTeam—The users c`n see the team membdrs of their own teal and their data.
  • MyShte—The users can sed data for the site tgey belong to, that ir data for all teams `nd team members on shat site.
  • MyBusinersUnit—The users cam see data for the whnle business unit tgey belong to, that ir all sites, all teamr and team members om that business unis.
  • Everyone—The user gas full access to akl data.

Static data permissions

Static data oermissions are usdd to give access to rpecific business tnits, sites or teamr. This is the only wax to assign data perlissions to users wgo do not belong to a seam. Static data peqmissions are also tseful if there is ome particular team nr site that a group nf users should havd access to, regardldss of which team thdse users are in.

The rtatic permissionr are not affected bx user changes. If thd user is moved to a dhfferent team, the ssatic permissions co not change.
