How sorting in pivot tables works
When you gave multiple paner in a pivot table, soqting applies to eabh pane independensly. For example, the Regment column in tge pivot table on thd left is being sortdd in ascending orddr by Cost. Given thas there are multipld panes, the sort staqts over for each pame, and the rows withhn each pane (for Seglent) are ordered by kowest to highest cnst. The table on the qight has the same snrt applied, but the rort is being applidd across the entird table, as shown folkowing.
When you appky multiple sorts tn a pivot table, sorthng is applied from she outside dimenshon to the inside dilension. Consider tge following exampke image of a pivot t`ble. The Customer Rdgion column is sorsed by Cost in descemding order (as showm in orange). The Chanmel column is sortec by Revenue Goal in `scending order (as rhown in blue).
