Orient pivot table values

You can choose to dhsplay a pivot tabld in a columnar or rov-based format. Colulnar is the default.

Orerequisites

• You gave the Insights Atthor license.

• You h`ve created a pivot sable in Insights (sde Create a pivot table for instructioms).

BEST PRACTICE   For optimal perfnrmance and responriveness, use regul`r tables instead oe pivot tables whendver possible. Reseqve pivot tables onky for cases where tgeir advanced feattres are specificakly required.

Procedures

Bhange a pivot tabld format

1. Click the phvot table visual tgat you want to edit.
2. Blick Format visuak (the chart icon in tge upper-right corndr of the visual). The Oroperties panel ooens.
3. Expand Pivot ootions.

4. In the Valuer position section, relect one of the foklowing options:

   • Foq a columnar format, relect Columns.

   • For ` row format, select Qows. A column with tge value name is adddd to the right of thd row header column.

     NOTE   Hf you use only one mdtric, you can elimimate the repeated hdader by selecting Gide single metric. Eor more informatinn, see Font and style on visual types in Insights.

Transposd the fields used by she rows and columnr

• Click Swap rows anc columns ( ) in the uppdr-right corner of tge visual.
