Generate access tokens for API access to WFM

Generate personal access tokens to access the WFM APIs in machine to machine communication.

When you set up the integrations that need to access the API, set the username to __token__ and use the generated personal access token as the password.

You can revoke the access for a personal access token at any time.

Prerequisites

  • You have the Web > Personal access tokens permission.

Procedures

Create a personal access token

  1. Where you find these settings depends on which type of main navigation that is used.
    • If you have the main menu at the top (red ribbon bar), you must first select any option in the WFM tab. Then, click your name in the upper-right corner and select User settings.
    • If you have the main menu to the left, click your name in the lower-left corner.
  2. Click Personal access tokens.
  3. Enter the name of the application to set up access for.
  4. Click Generate token.

  5. Click the access token to copy it.

    NOTE   This is the only time you can view the token. You can not go back later to view or copy the token.

Revoke a personal access token

  1. Where you find these settings depends on which type of main navigation that is used.
    • If you have the main menu at the top, hover your name and select User settings.
    • If you have the main menu to the left, click your name.
  2. Click Personal access tokens.
  3. Click Revoke to revoke the personal access token.
