Manage visualizations

Select the best way to visualize the data to make it easy to understand and analyze.

At the top of the Visualizations panel there are small icons representing the types of visualizations that are available to visualize your data. A tooltip indicates what type of visualization it is. It is easy to switch to a different visualization whenever you prefer.

Use the Visualization panel to format and filter the data. Each visualization has its own settings and a menu that is only visible when the visualization is selected. These settings shows up either next to the visualization in the upper right corner or in the lower right corner, depending on where there is space on the page.

  4. Click the arrow to the left of the properties to see all format settings for that category. You can also use the search to quickly find the setting you are looking for. For example, to change the font size, search for size. The field options where you can format size are shown.
  5. Edit the format setting. The changes are shown immediately in the selected visualization. If needed you can always click Revert to default to reset to the default settings.
  6. Click Save.

Control how visualizations interact on a page

By default, visualizations on a report page can be used to cross-filter and cross-highlight other visualizations. You can control the interactions set, on a per-visualization basis.

EXAMPLE

Selecting a person in a table visualization highlights the column chart and filters the line chart to display only data that applies to that person.

If you have a visualization that supports drilling, by default, drilling one visualization has no impact on the other visualizations on the page.

  1. When editing a report, select a visualization to make it active.
  2. Click Visual interactions in the Report bar and turn on Edit interactions. Cross-filter and cross-highlight icons are added to all the other visualizations on the report page.
  3. Select what impact the selected visualization should have on the other visualizations.

    • If it should cross-filter the visualization, select the filter icon.
    • If it should cross-highlight the visualization, select the highlight icon.
    • If it should have no impact, select the no impact icon.
  4. If needed, repeat step 1 to 3 for other visualizations on the report page.
  5. To control drill-down interactions, click Visual interactions in the Report bar and turn on or off the Drilling filters. When turned on, and you drill down in one visualization, the data in the other visualizations on the report page adjusts to reflect the current drilling selection.
