A business unit is the organizational unit at the top of the business hierarchy. It can contain one or more sites.
If your installation contains more than one business unit and your user has access to more than one business unit, you select which business unit to work with when you log in. Which business units a user has access to is defined by permission roles.
Most items, for example activities and absences, are individually defined for each business unit. The only things in common between the business units in an installation are non-agent users, external logons, and queues.
It's possible to distribute forecast data from one business unit to another one using multisite skills.
