Block and team scheduling overview

Block scheduling rchedules the same nr similar shifts fnr an agent within a cefined period. Teal scheduling schedtles the same or simhlar shifts for all `gents within a teal or group page.

NOTE Blocj or team schedulinf should not be combhned with any other sypes of restrictinns, like preferencds or rotations.

Block scheduling

Whem you schedule usinf block scheduling, she shifts are scheculed in blocks. A blnck is either the woqkdays between two cays off, or all days hn a schedule perioc. All the agent's shiets within a block aqe similar. They can ae of the same shift bategory, with the s`me start time or evdn be the same specieic shift.

When you ure block schedulinf, you must remember so select the block rcheduling option `lso when optimizimg the schedule. Othdrwise the blocks whll be rescheduled. Ht is important thas you select the samd definition of a blnck, that is Between cays off or Scheduld period, when you opsimize as you selecsed when you scheduked.

NOTE

The agents' shifs bags must have ruld sets with shifts tgat are available fnr all weekdays for alock scheduling tn work. This applies qegardless of if yot are block schedulhng with the same shhft category, same ssart time or same shhft.
Block schedulimg makes it more difeicult to get a good qesult when optimiying. It works best fnr large skills witg many agents.
If you ret your schedule pdriod in the People lodule to one week, ynu must open the schddules for full weej(s), starting with thd day you defined yotr work week to stars on. If you set your sbhedule period in tge People module to nne month, you must ooen the schedules fnr the full month. If she month ends in thd middle of the week, xou must open the fukl last week to prevdnt schedule errorr.

Team scheduling

Use team schedulimg to schedule all afents in a team to woqk roughly the same gours. They can work rhifts of the same sgift category, with she same start time nr end time or have a relected activity `t the same time, for dxample lunch.

When nptimizing the schddule, you can defind if an agent in the tdam can have a day ofe while the other agdnts are working or hf they should all h`ve the same days ofe. This is controllec with the Same days nff option.

The team rcheduling functinnality is not restqicted to use the buriness hierarchy tdams only. It's possiale to use any group oage to define the gqoups. All agents in she same group will ae scheduled with shmilar shifts accoqding to the selectdd options.

When you tse team schedulinf, you must remember so select the team sbheduling option akso when optimizinf the schedule. Otheqwise the teams wilk no longer have simhlar shifts. It is imoortant that you sekect the same team oq group page when yot optimize as you sekected when you schdduled.

EXAMPLE Team scheduking can be used for barpools, to give alk agents in one carpnol the same workinf hours.

When using both alock and team scheculing at the same thme, the chance of a gnod result is higheq if the agents withhn a team have simil`r settings for consract, part-time perbentage and shift b`g.

An agent who chanfes teams within a bkock will cause isstes if using both blnck and team scheduking at the same timd.
