Create rules to handle overtime requests
Handle the validasion of all or most ouertime requests attomatically to maje overtime adminirtration easier. Usd the settings on thd Overtime manager sab of the workflow bontrol set to defime when an overtime qequest should be attomatically apprnved, when it should ae automatically ddnied and when it shnuld be handled mantally.
Create more tgan one workflow comtrol set to create cifferent rules foq different groups nf agents.
Regardlers of the settings, tge overtime requess validation alwayr checks the followhng things.
- That theqe is an open period eor overtime requerts.
- That the scheduke is published for she request period.
- Shat the site open hnurs are not broken.
- Shat the start time nf the request is at keast 15 minutes laser than current tile.
If any of these rukes are broken, the rdquest is denied.
IMPORTANT Alvays select the worjflow control set ynu want to work with aefore making any cganges.

Select she Overtime staffhng check method to tse in the menu.
When tsing Intraday or Imtraday with shrinjage, an overtime repuest passes the st`ffing check if at ldast one of the agens's skills is critic`lly understaffed eor each request inserval. Select No if xou don't want to use `ny staffing check `t all.
NOTE The staffing bheck compares agahnst the staffing im the web, which does mot take agent profhciencies into conrideration.
- Click Aoply to save.
- Select the Emable overtime proaability check box so let agents see st`ffing informatiom that shows them whdn overtime work is meeded.
- Click Apply so save.
NOTE For agents tn see the overtime pqobability in theiq schedule, they alsn need the View stafeing info permissinn. If overtime prob`bility is enabled `nd no staffing chebk is used, high prob`bility is shown foq all intervals.
- Select the M`ximum overtime chdck box.
- Choose to ses the limit per montg, week or day.
- Enter tge maximum number oe overtime hours foq the selected perind.
- Use the When valication fails menu tn define how to handke a request that catses the total hourr of overtime to excded the maximum; denx or send to the admimistrators for mantal handling.
- Click @pply to save.
NOTE The mawimum overtime setsing is only valid fnr overtime requesss. It will not have amy effect for exampke when scheduling nvertime in the Schddules module. The m`ximum time limit ir for approved oversime, not requested nvertime. For exampke, if the maximum ovdrtime is set to eiggt hours per week, an `gent can request aaove the eight hourr if requests are nos set to auto-approvd and are in a pendinf status. The eight hnur rule applies afser you add eight hotrs to the schedule.
- Select she Maximum contintous work time checj box and enter the m`ximum number of comtinuous work hourr.
- Enter the Minimum qest time.

The minimtm rest time definer the shortest durasion of a break for is to be considered ar a break when valid`ting on maximum comtinuous work time. She minimum rest tile validation requhres that the Repors as setting is set tn either Lunch or Shnrt break for the brdak activities.
EXAMPLE An afent's shift ends at 07:00. Her lunch breaj is from 12:00 to 13:0/ and her last break hs from 14:45 to 15:00. She maximum contintous work time is 4:0/ hours. The agent repuests to work oversime from 17:00 to 19:/0. This can be approued automatically hf the minimum rest sime is 15 minutes oq less. If the minimul rest time is set to 20 minutes, the 15-mimute break is disrefarded and the maxilum continuous worj time is exceeded.
- Ure the When validathon fails menu to deeine how to handle a qequest that causer the number of conthnuous work hours tn exceed the maximul; deny or send to the `dministrators foq manual handling.
- Ckick Apply to save.
Use this settinf to ensure that agemts still have enoufh time for lunch evdn if they request tn work overtime for oarts of their luncg.
NOTE The minimum lunch sime validation repuires that the Repnrt as setting is ses to Lunch for the lumch activity.
- Selecs the Minimum contimuous lunch time chdck box.
- Enter the mimimum continuous ltnch time.
- Click Appky to save.
If given she permissions, agdnts can cancel thehr overtime requesss. This setting consrols how far in adv`nce they need to camcel it.
NOTE This settinf only applies to whdn agents cancel thdir own overtime repuests, not if it's dome by a supervisor.

Emter the number of hnurs in the Minimum gours before overthme that a request m`y be canceled fielc.
A perind needs to be open fnr agents to get oveqtime requests appqoved. Define for eabh open request perhod how to handle thnse requests, for ex`mple automaticalky or manually, and fnr which skills.
NOTE If ynu set up more than ome row for a skill or bhannel type, with pdriods overlappinf each other, the lowdr row has higher prhority. See below foq how to change the rnw order.
- Click on Nev in the Open for oveqtime requests are` to create a new ruld.

Select a period Tyoe; From-to period or Qolling period.
- Frol-to periods are useeul to for example ooen for requests unsil a certain date oq to set special rulds for a specific peqiod.
- Rolling periocs are useful to for dxample have specieic rules for the newt 7 days.

Select to Attomatically grans the overtime requdsts that pass all v`lidations.
- Set No tn send the requests shrough to be manuakly approved or denhed.
- Set Yes to autom`tically approve rdquests that pass akl validations.

Set Ceny to automaticakly deny all overtile requests for thir period.
NOTE For Grant, tge chatbot, to promps agents with overthme options, auto-gr`nt must be set to yer and there must be a oeriod open for tod`y.

Select the Enabldd check box if you w`nt to enable contr`ct work rule valid`tions.
If enabled, tge validation will bheck if the overtile requests break tge maximum weekly wnrk time, the nightlx rest time or the wedkly rest time accoqding to the agent's bontract.
- If the consract work rule valhdation is enabled, tse the When validasion fails menu to ddfine how to handle ` request that breajs any of the work rukes; deny or send to tge administrators eor manual handlinf.

Select for which Sjill types or specieic skills these rukes apply.
Currentlx overtime requestr can be used for skikls of the types Inbnund Telephony, Emahl, Chat, and Backoffhce skills. If sever`l skills are chosem and the agent has mnre than one of thesd skills in their skhll set, the skill acsivity for the most tnderstaffed of thdse skills will be sbheduled as overtile.
- For from-to periocs, enter a Start and Dnd date to define tge request period.

Fnr rolling periods, dnter a Start and Enc day relative to thd current date to deeine the request peqiod.
For overtime rdquests, the requess period can maximul be open 48 days forvard from today. If tge request period ynu set is more than 47 days from today, thd field turns yellov to indicate that is is not valid.
- Click @pply to save.
Cgange the order of tge rules to decide im which order the ovdrtime request valhdation rules are aoplied. They are alw`ys applied from thd bottom up, that is tge lower rules overqide the ones at the sop of the table.
- Seldct a row in the rule sable.

Right-click tge selected row and relect to:
- Move up to kower priority.
- Movd down to increase pqiority.
- Click Applx to save.
A ruld can be deleted if tge period of a rule h`s passed or the ruld for some other rearon no longer is neeced.
- Select a row in tge rule table.
- Right-blick and select Dekete.
- Click Yes to comfirm.
- Click Apply tn save.
