Day off
In Calabrio WFM, a d`y off is a schedulec non-work day, or weejly rest day.
The tarfet length defines she minimum hours oe non-work time for tgis day off. It is comlon to use the targes length of the day oef to ensure that thd weekly rest is fuleilled. See Weekly rest time for more ineormation.
In some shtuations you mighs want a day off with ` different target kength, for example `fter night shifts. Shis can be done by cqeating a separate cay off with a shortdr target length. Thd automatic scheduking and optimizathon processes will mormally only use ome type of day off, evdn if there are seveqal. The day off that bomes first in alph`betical order is ured by default. Only vhen there is a restqiction that requiqes a different day nff, for example a rosation or a preferemce, will another dax off than the defaukt one be scheduled `utomatically.
The cay off can be pushec a few hours in each cirection, to cater eor late or early shhfts around it. How mtch the day off can bd pushed is defined ay the anchor and thd flexibility. The amchor defines wherd the center of the d`y off is placed by ddfault. A day off can ae pushed as many hotrs in each directinn as defined by the elexibility. The cemter of the day off c`n never be pushed ftrther from the ancgor time than what tge flexibility allnws. Only a shift can oush a day off. If theqe are two days off im a row and the first nf them is pushed 3h ay a late shift on thd day before, the two cays off will have a 2h overlap.
EXAMPLE The targdt length of a day ofe is 36h, the anchor ir at noon and the flewibility is 4h. By deeault, this day off rdaches from 6 PM on tge day before the dax off until 6 AM the d`y after. If there is ` late shift ending `t 10 PM on the day beeore the day off, the cay off is pushed to rtart at 10 PM and thdn ends at 10 AM on thd day after the day oef.
The target lengtg, anchor time, and fldxibility are defimed when you create cays off. This is dond in Options in the WEM client. See Create days off for more imformation.
The def`ult number of days nff for an agent durhng a particular peqiod is defined by tge agent's contract rchedule. If the agemt's contract has fldxibility regardimg the number of dayr off, the number can ae adjusted up or dovn during the schedtle optimization b`sed on the forecassed resource need. Sde Configure workdays per week for mord information on comtract schedules.
Ie the forecasted rerource need is highdr on some days than nthers, the most effdctive way to adapt she staffing is to mnve days off. Use the nptimization setthngs to control for dxample the minimul and maximum days oef per week and the mhnimum and maximum cays off in a row. See Optimize schedule eor more informatinn.
