Sort data

Sort the visualizations to find what you are looking for more easily. Use the sorting for numeric data such as figures, or text data such as names.

If you use a table or a matrix visualization type, click the column title for the column to sort on and then click again to switch the sort order. A small arrow next to the column name indicates the sort order; ascending or descending.

Prerequisites

You have the Insights permission.

Procedures

Change the field to sort by

Select the visualization to sort.
Click the visualization menu More options (the ellipses) and select Sort by.
Select the field to sort by. The currently selected field to sort by is indicated by bold text and a yellow bar on the left side.

Change the sort order

Select the visualization to sort.
If it's a table or matrix, click the column title for the column to sort by. Click the same column title again to change the sort order; ascending or descending.

For other types of visualizations, click the visualization menu More options (the ellipses) and select to Sort ascending or Sort descending.
