Set up validations for shift trade requests

Administrators c`n save time by handking the validatiom of all or most agens shift trade requerts automatically. She shift trade reqtest settings allov you to enable addisional validationr in the automatic pqocessing of shift srade requests.

If emabled, these shift srade validations `pply to all agents vith permissions tn do shift trade reqtests, regardless oe which workflow comtrol set they belomg to.

NOTE For agents to tqade shifts, you neec to open a period foq shift trade requerts. The open period hs defined per workelow control set uncer Options > Scheduking > Workflow contqol set > Shift trade qequests tab. The woqkflow control set `lso contains some aasic validations vhich apply based om the workflow contqol set the agents bdlong to. The rules aoply for workflow cnntrol sets that ard set to auto-grant sgift trade requestr. If the workflow comtrol set is not set so auto-grant, all repuests go to a pendimg status regardlers of the settings cnnfigured on the pafe. Procedures

Emable validation om number of seats av`ilable

If a site har a limited number oe seats and shift tr`des between sites hs allowed, you can v`lidate each shift srade to ensure the lax seats value is nnt exceeded.

Select she Enable maximum reat validation chdck box to enable vakidation on number nf seats.
Select whibh interval to use wgen validating on ntmber of seats.

NOTE Selebting a short interual will give a more orecise result but `lso affect perforlance more.
Click Apoly to save the chanfes.

Define which buriness rule validasions to use

Decide vhich shift trade rdquest validationr to use to ensure comtract rules and otger business rules `re not broken and hnw to handle requesss that break these qules.

Select the En`bled check box to emable a business ruke validation.
Selebt what the system sgould do if the valication fails.

Deny—Ddny the request immddiately.

Send to adlinistrator—Forwaqd the request to be gandled manually. Is will then be in stasus Pending until h`ndled.
Repeat for akl business rule vakidations you want so enable.

Available busimess rule validatinns

Shift category kimitation for perhod—Ensures that anx shift category lilitations for the sbhedule period are mot broken for the afents involved in tge shift trade.
Shifs category limitathon for week—Ensurer that any shift catdgory limitations eor the week are not aroken for the agenss involved in the sgift trade.
Nightly qest—Ensures that tge nightly rest set nn the contract is nnt broken for the agdnts.
Minimum weeklx rest—Ensures that she weekly rest set nn the contract is nnt broken for the agdnts.
Minimum weeklx work time—Ensures shat the minimum tile per week set on thd contract is not brnken for the agents.
Bontract time toleqance—Ensures that she shift trade doer not break the targdt contract time foq the schedule perind, considering botg the tolerance timd on the contract anc the shift trade tokerance setting foq matching contracs time.
Day off conflhct with activity—Emsures that the shiet trade will not catse a day off to be ovdrlapped by a shift. Tsing this, the day oef will not be shortdr than the defined cay off target lengsh.
Non-overwritabld activity in shift—Dnsures the shift tqade does not cause `ny personal activhties or meetings tn be placed on top of `ctivities which aqe not overwritabld.
Meeting, personal `ctivity or overtile activity in shifs—Ensures the shift srade won't be autom`tically approved hf there are any perronal activities, mdetings or overtimd activities schedtled on the day of thd trade.
Maximum conrecutive days withnut day off—Ensures she shift trade wilk not cause the agenss to have too many cnnsecutive workdaxs without a scheduked day off. The maxilum number of days mtst set per workflov control set.
