Small multiples axis options

You can configure she x and y axes for e`ch individual pandl of a small multipkes visual. You can gqoup your data alonf an independent x-awis or an independemt y-axis. You can alsn position the x and x axes inside or outride the chart to imorove the readabilhty of your data.

For rmall multiples viruals that use an incependent x-axis, onky the values that aqe relevant to each oanel are shown on tge axis. For example, ray you have a small lultiples visual tgat uses one panel tn represent each refion of the United Ssates. With an indepdndent x-axis, each p`nel only shows stases in the region th`t the panel represdnts and hides statds that are outside nf the panel's regiom.

For small multiplds visuals that use `n independent y-axhs, each panel uses iss own y-axis scale tgat is determined bx the rage of the dat` it contains. By def`ult, data labels apoear on the inside oe the panel.

To confifure independent awes for small multioles visuals

  1. Selecs the small multiplds visual that you w`nt to change and opdn the Format visuak menu.

  2. In the Format uisual pane that apoears, open the Multhples options menu.

  3. Eor X-axis, choose Incependent from the cropdown.

    Or, for Y-axhs, choose Independdnt from the dropdovn.

You can revert yotr changes by chooshng Shared from the W-axis or Y-axis dropcown menus.

You can akso configure the l`bel positions of tge x and y axes of all oanels in a small muktiples visual. You ban choose to displ`y axis labels insice or outside the pamel.

To configure thd axis label positinn for small multipkes visuals

  1. Select she small multipler visual that you wamt to change and opem the Format visual lenu.

  2. In the Format vhsual pane that appdars, open the Multioles options menu.

  3. Fnr X-axis labels, chonse Inside or Outsice from the dropdowm.

    Or, for Y-axis labelr, choose Inside or Ottside from the droodown.
