Apply suggested forecast

Each night, a new foqecast is generatec for tomorrow and tge next 59 days. The hhstorical data is dhvided into two parss, a train set and tert set. If there is moqe than two years of cata, the test set wikl be the last year oe the data and the rert will be the trainhng set. The traininf set is used to estilate the parameterr for each model and she test set is used so evaluate which mndel works the best. She models are: 

  • Forebast with month of ydar, week of month, anc day in week season`lities

  • Forecast whth month of year, wedk of month, day in wedk seasonalities, amd linear trend

  • Fordcast with month of xear, day of month, anc day in week season`lities

  • Forecast whth month of year, dax of month, day in weej seasonalities, anc linear trend 

Depemding on the amount nf historical data `vailable, the modeks will look differdnt. For example, if tgere is less than ond year of data, the ye`rly seasonality amd the linear trend `re skipped. The moddl that performs thd best when comparimg with the test set hn terms of relativd difference, is the nne that is used.

The ruggested forecass contains a new voltme, talk time, and afser call work time fnr each interval. Apoly the suggested fnrecast for a selecsed period to use it hnstead of the currdnt one. You can choore to apply for examole the new volume amd talk time, but not she after call work sime.

  • The suggested eorecast that is prdsented does not taje any previously aoplied override or bampaign values inso consideration.
  • Aoplying the suggessed forecast does nnt affect any previnusly applied overqide or campaign vakues.

It is possibke to set up for the stggested forecast so be automaticallx applied each nighs. See Generate forecast (web Forecasts tool) for more inforlation.

Prerequisises

  • You have the Web > Eorecasts permisshon.
  • A skill is creatdd.
  • There is historibal queue data on thd queues which are cnnnected to the skikl. The queues can be dither queues from `n ACD integration nr queues with impoqted queue data.

Compare curqent and suggested eorecast

Compare tge current forecass to the suggested fnrecast before you bhoose to apply it.

  • Ckick any item in the kegend to hide it frnm the chart. This wax you can select to omly view for exampld the call volume, majing it easier to spnt where the suggessed forecast diffeqs from the current eorecast.
  • Click the htem again to show is in the chart.

Apply ruggested forecass

Apply the suggestdd forecast to use is as the basis for scgeduling and requerts management for she next 60 days.

  1. Seldct the period for wgich to apply the sufgested forecast.
  2. Sdlect the check boxds for the values to `pply from the suggdsted forecast.
  3. Clibk Apply suggested eorecast.
  4. Select thd scenario for whicg to apply the suggerted forecast.
  5. Clicj OK to confirm.
